10. The Niagara Falls
Probably some of you are shocked watching the Niagara Falls at number 10 in this list of top 10 most beautiful places in the world. Truly speaking I was shocked too. But it also inspired the feelings that there are nine more places at least in this world those are more beautiful than this breathtaking one. The falls are made by a collection of 3 falls and located on the border of Canada and United States of America. The American Falls, the Bridal Veil Falls, and the Horseshoe Falls are the component falls which make up the great Niagara Falls. First two of them lie completely on the American side. The Horseshoe falls mostly on the Canadian side.
You can make a list of so many things while visiting the Niagara Falls. There are of course beautiful and convenient place to eat, drink, play and enjoy. Probably the most beautiful option to watch the falls is from above at the spectacular Skylon Tower. Another suggestion for you, try to visit Skylon Tower at night to enjoy even more breathtaking views of the unbelievable falls. Definitely it is much cheaper than taking a helicopter tour. And if you wish to avoid tourist crowds, you can go to the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens.

09. The Great Wall of China
The Great Wall of China stretches about 5,500 miles from east and west of China. The wal amazingly winds up and down across grasslands, deserts, plateaus and mountains. It was built by the natives as a form of protection against their enemies. And can you believe that they planned for such structure more than 2000 years ago. The age old architecture is probably one of the main cause for being one of the most beautiful places in the world.
The iconic man-made structure draws thousands of tourists, especially backpackers almost every year. If you are going to take a day trip, the Mutianyu section is highly recommended as it can take almost half the day. But for long hiking trip, consider visiting Jinshanling, Simatai and Gubeikou.
Let’s try to imagine how hard it was to build the Great Wall. And the ways the workmen transported the stones? In fact the techniques that were used to build the Wall were also incredible. It’s really a mystery to believe that 2000 years ago people could build such a majestic wall.

08. The Great Barrier Reef, Australia
This is the largest coral reef system in the world which occupies more than 900 islands. The Reef is made of around 2900 reefs and located in the Coral Sea, Australia. It stretches for over 2600 km. surprisingly one can also distinguish this from the outer space.
Of course it is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. It has a high marine life diversity, some of which are also endangered species. More than over 1,500 fish species include the red bass, clownfish, snapper and red-throat emperor. There are around 30 species of dolphins, whales and porpoises here. The Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin and the dwarf minke whale can also be found here. Other notable – 125 species of shark and stingray, 49 species of mass spawn, 17 species of sea snake, 84 species of other spawn and 6 species of sea turtles.
The Great Barrier Reef is an incredibly popular place. Due to its warm clear waters and vast marine life you can easily consider this as one of the most beautiful places in the world. Again the reef is also especial for scuba divers and attractive for snorkeling, fishing and sailing. A great total of about 2 million people visit the reef every year.
07. The Pyramids and the Sphinx
Undoubtedly the Sphinx is the world’s largest monolith statue. It stands 241 ft long, 63 ft wide and over 66 ft high. Historically believed that the Sphinx was built for the Pharaoh Khafre over 4,500 years ago. Isn’t this enough for such an architecture to place at number 7 in our list of top 10 most beautiful places in the world. But truly speaking it is still not that much clear about exact date when it was built and by whom. Anyway it’s incredibly mysterious place.
Historians often refer that there are also 138 ancient pyramids that were built to hide the tombs of the Pharaohs. And the largest of Egypt is the Pyramid of Khufu. It is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World that still exists. The Sphinx is fascinating and more spectacular. Hopefully some of you will add up tis great monument for watching several times after the first sight.
While in the Sahara desert, obviously the pyramids and the Sphinx are among the most amazing sites that you can enjoy. Apart from watching the beautiful site of the pyramids, you can also enjoy a camel ride, believe me this is unbelievably incredible.
06. Inca City of Machu Picchu
This often surprises me, many of you still don’t know much about this mysterious place on earth. Some of you probably amazed knowing this as truly present not in stories. The place is commonly known as the lost city of Incas, which was discovered in 1913 by Bingham. The ruins are made of white granite blocks. These were beautifully and carefully fitted together. You can find here temples, residences, parks and sanctuaries. Believe me, this is an amazing place to go. And for the history lovers I would sometime prefer this top of the most beautiful places in the world. People believe, Machu Picchu was built for Pachacuti, the emperor of the Incas. But alas, the Incas had no written language, so we have to end up somewhere with some probable predictions.
Here is one point you are in need of. As traveling to Machu Picchu isn’t so easy, but definitely it’s worth the time and effort and also the money. The plan can be like- Lima to Cusco, and only from Cusco you can take the train to Machu Picchu. Many tourists also choose to hike to the spectacular ruins on the Inca Trail. This may take 3-4 days to get there in this process.
Also to be known that the place is highly vulnerable to numerous threats now a days. Especially the weather systems and earthquakes can play havoc with access. Many archaeologists are afraid that a great number of visitors can damage the ruins. So try to be as careful as possible when visiting Machu Picchu and don’t do anything that can harm one of the most beautiful places in the world.
05. The Red Beach, China
Most of the people will definitely admit that they enjoy spending a lot of time in a beach. But believe me it can be incredibly fascinating and memorable if you could visit an extraordinary beach. One is like the red beach in China, which is located in Dowa county 30km southwest of Panjin. And this time we consider it as the 5th of the top 10 most beautiful places in the world.
Just because the beach is red doesn’t mean it has a red sand. Actually the beach is red due to the Sueda (a type of seaweed that turns red each fall). It is situated in the largest wetland and reed marsh on Earth. Definitely the beach hosts a completed ecosystem. There are over 399 species of wild animals and 260 species of birds.
This Chinese beach attracts many tourists from all over the world each year. Not only during the fall season but also almost all over the year. The Sueda starts growing during April and May and it stays green during the summertime. So, you can also pick spring and summer as ideal for visiting the Red Beach. The beach is really quite red and there are no crowds. But perhaps the most fascinating information about the beach is, almost everyone can visit it, regardless of their budget.
04. Great Blue Hole
The Great Blue Hole is located near the center of Lighthouse Reef. It is quite a big underwater sinkhole. And probably this is the best of diving destination which is about 407 ft deep and 984 ft wide, and is rich in clear water and beautiful marine life. Just imagine diving in crystal-clear water and meeting unique species of fish, such as Caribbean reef shark, Midnight Parrotfish, and even bull shark. You may often get the charming opportunity to see fantastic coral formations. People can take a day trip to the Great Blue Hole from one of the coastal communities in Belize. They just need to be assured one thing to get as earlier as possible.
The Great Blue Hole topped the Discovery Channel’s list of 10 Most Amazing Places on Earth in 2012. It is now at fourth on the list of the most beautiful places in the world. So, of course you should. So plan your trip to the Great Blue Hole while visiting Belize. The boat ride is about two hours long, but the scenery is captivating and you will certainly enjoy the ride. Again one thing, all these are never at all cheap, but may be it worth the costing.
03. Fairy Pools, Isle of Skye, Scotland
The name already is quite fascinating, isn’t it? Fairy Pools are located two miles from the Glen Brittle beach. They are a part of a stream coming from the Glen Brittle forest which flows in clear quiet streams and beautiful waterfalls. But the problem is, you will never find that much of public transport here. Well, you can take a walk through the pools enjoying the serene beauty. Moreover, you can swim here, if you can endure the cold (even in summer). When visiting Fairy Pools, make sure you don’t do anything to harm the environment here.
On our current consideration we intend to keep Fairy Pools at number three in top 10 most beautiful places in the world. It might not be so popular and I know many people avoid visiting this place when they backpack in Scotland. But definitely the place is perfect for hikers, mountain bikers, wildlife lovers. People can find many rare plants and animals here. One visited the Fairy Pools can’t understand why so many people miss such a breathtaking place. Though I think it’s better to visit Fairy Pools on a sunny day since it could be very muddy on rainy day.
02. Venice, Italy
The city is not only amazing, but also preservative. Venice has maintained it’s beauty for more than 600 years. It has 118 islands and more tourists than residents and this is a fact contributed by availability of many beautiful sites and places to go. Among the places is touring with the Grand Canal, which is a 230 passenger boat. You can find the tallest and the oldest building in the city is the Campanile, which was built 325ft tall. Never think of reaching the top with horses like the old days. Yes you can take a lift.
St Mark’s Basilica and the Piazza San Marco are another popular attractions in the city which is also the second most beautiful place in the world. The Lido di Venezia is a world-known luxury destination that attracts thousands of celebrities, critics, and popular actors and actresses. But you can often find the city overcrowded. Popularity cased this problem undoubtedly. The competition for tourists to purchase houses in Venice has made prices increase so high that many locals have to move to more affordable places in the country.
Anyone can be fell in love with the city’s diverse architectural style. I highly recommend you to see the Ca’ Rezzonico, the Doge’s Palace, and the Ca’ Pesaro.
01. Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Here comes the most beautiful place on earth. This is an amazing site located in between the border of Zambia and North of Zimbabwe along the Zambezi River. Victoria Falls is neither the widest nor the highest waterfall on Earth. This breathtaking waterfall occupies around 2 kilometer mile and is 354 feet high. The great falls emit mist that is spotted by somebody about 20 kilometers away and hence it’s traditional “Mosi-oa Tunya” that simply means “thundering smoke”.
The falls was named such by a Scottish explorer David Livingstone. The person is believed to have been the first person from Europe to visit Victoria Falls on 16 November 1855. By the end of the 90s around 300,000 visitors were seeing Victoria Falls each year. Next decade, it was expected to increase to a million or more. Anyway, today Victoria Falls has more visitors from Zimbabwe and Zambia than from other countries in the world. This amazing great place is accessible by train and bus, and it’s rather cheap to reach.
No no no…. no more details on this, as I believe each and every one of you shouldn’t miss the greatest beauty on earth. Probably then you would figure out that it was quite impossible for me to describe the details in words and why I refer this as the best of the top 10 most beautiful places in the world.
